"Emotional Intelligence" in shaping our CHOICE - a perspective

"Emotional intelligence" is ability to perceive , control and evaluate own's and other emotions.

Now is there any co-relation between "informed choice" and emotional intelligence ?

In contemporary  digitalised world where information disseminate like anything and where we are being swamped with information mix of both rhetoric and reality , we often find ourself in paradoxical situation .In this situation some psychologist suggest that emotional quotient (E.Q.) scales equal or even higher than that of the intelligence quotient (I.Q.) .

Awareness of emotion and ability to enable emotion to informed reasoned action is what is necessary for emotional intelligence i.e. emotional intelligence involves integrating "head and heart". Now this is where many of us falter. As one of many sarcasm on love goes on- " Love is a hole in the heart ". Most often we let our heart dominate head.

It is not that the experience of emotion alone leads people to wise action. After all emotions wise or not , exists in everyone. What matters is how me make sense of our emotional experience and how we use it is makes the difference.

Now my main idea of bringing in emotional intelligence in shaping our choice is because  many of us tends to be very reactive ,quick in getting judgemental at events occurring i.e we give free run to heart . As a result of which head takes back seat, reasoning suffers and so choice is half baked which has very high probability to falter in near future.

But unlike intelligence quotient (I.Q.) , good thing with emotional intelligence is that we can develop and sublime it if we let head follow heart doggedly.By not rushing to judgement without knowing all the facts , do a self-evaluation by careful examination of environment , by letting others views pour in and so on....

So with gradual development of emotional intelligence, we can make better choice in life and hence can lead more meaningful life which will enrich our society as a whole in long run after all all we want is happy environment of ourself and our loved one.....

P.S.- "If faith in ourselves had been more extensively taught and practiced, I am sure a very large portion of the evils and miseries that we have would have vanished- Swami Vivekananda " .

Making an "Informed Choice" - a perspective

Life is all about 'Choice' and so quality of life proportionate to quality of informed choice we make.

Recent interaction with friends on Facebook has compelled me to put my thought on 'Informed choice' (  a polity perspective ).

Soon we are going to celebrate greatest festival of democracy i.e General Election . In this context it is pertinent to have the subjective knowledge of ground reality which is value loaded , more authentic , pragmatic rather than just rhetoric.

Most often I feel that engineers have innate tendency towards finding short-cuts ( of course with some exception :) ) ,doing things when deadline approaches . I get nostalgic when I delve into VIT days -night out with friends during exams , trying to make up for all fun in one night or so and anyhow manage to get comfortable CGPA . Here I would like to mention two wonderful ladies who helped to make exam less tense - Archana Dubey , whose class notes almost whole class use to follow and Manisha Dokania ,who use to text exact syllabus with precise page no :) .

The above short flash back is just to illustrate that how my attitude of achieving something got shrink into few hours but life outside is much more complex and full of dynamism & has many shades of grey. So to make clear cut judgement on something we first need to keep open ourself to events occurring .

I feel elated to see that many friends putting their view on politics after all knowingly or unknowingly every aspect of our life gets affected by policy of government we choose. Political direction of a country is nothing but collective value of people/society.So political awareness of citizen is necessary condition for a country to chart a prosperous path. Now in competitive democracy like India, citizen ability to make good political judgement is necessary.  It is nothing but because of our current pathetic law maker we face innumerable problems in our daily life.

Coming general election has again thrown upon us a new opportunity to correct our mistake. According to Election Commission of India , 2014 general election is going to have almost 10% first time voter i.e youth. So it is for us to take up this opportunity ,open ourself to various ideas , views and try to evaluate it with open mind rather than being rigid to any ideology because of our past  i.e making choice based on current flowing information .

So way forward should be -we need to open ourself to good debate , appreciate other view point , after all innovation is result of amalgamation of ideas , making final choice after giving balance look to all aspect like economy , social development , human development  index , defence status of our country ,public life corruption etc. Reaching to conclusion at last after these look out is what is need of the hour i.e "INFORMED CHOICE ".

Movie Review.. HOUSEFULL

How do u you when u expect a lot from something but end up getting nothing.. Quite frustrating .. isn't it..?
After a long interval on 1st May i decided to go for movie as there was quite scarcity of good movie last month.
With quite long list of famous starcast with a theme of comedy & director himself a comedian , i though to give a try without reading the critics in newspaper. But as usual this movie fall flat in all the aspect . The movie theme didn't click at all . Humorless comedy , trying hard to make audience laugh with senseless drama. Movie fall flat in all aspect... whether the scene of Akshay kumar coming to Lara Datta house and make some absurd comedy scene or the last Laughing scene , it disappoints a lot . In the whole show i only liked the interval time trailer of RAJNITI :) .

Movie is slow in 1st half & in second half it gets little fast. But in the end it don't give you value for money . Prepare well next time Mr. Sajid Khan..

At the end on my rating scale it end up 2 out of 10 point.

My 1st Hyderabad anniversary...

With all the bounteqous goodness of GOD , thursday morning(3rd of dec) marked my 1st dwelling anniversary
in hyderabad ...with some ups and down ,as yesturday itself i have done up with CAT , i was feeling quite relax early morning ..
Being a single gives us lots of time for ourself .. doesn't it ? :)
amassing & thinking - what new today. ?

Got up & skimmed over newspaper-- CAT prometic test chaos & fresh Telegana issue had hogged all over the newspaper--it was BUND(strike) called by desperate K.Chandrashakher Rao of TRS .. hurriedly got up ,thinking how to reach the office ? Unable to get any cab/bus.. i gave up and informed my TL .. the whole road gave deserted look .. the city had gone on standstill for the first time for me.. I was not able to belive this is the same city with which i have developed so much of affection within a year.. The city that i have heard a lot early from my college day.. city of Chandrababu Naidu , who has given hyderabad a new dimension..

I went back home rumbling with thought --is this city too going Mumbai way, as yesterday itself i have read a nice article by Shobhaa de - " Why aachi Mumbai is like Rani Mukherjee " (http://blogs.timesofindia.indiatimes.com/politically-incorrect/entry/why-aamchi-mumbai-is-like) ..
Do she need to correct her thought of calling "hello hyderabad" to other one..?may be !!or not !!
Lets future have the say.. !!
